what do you think to planting veg and flowers together ?

i was thinking of adding things like beans into my soon to be created flower boarder

or would it look better and work better seperate

My FIl has cane 'wigwams' of beans and peas at back of one of his borders, and a row of raspberry canes

Why not? My mum has her vegetable patch in the middle of the rose garden. My little sister thought that cucumbers were the fruit of the rose bush, as the cucumber vines would often climb the roses. I've got garlic coming up behind my daffodils right now.

Just make sure that you don't grow things that could be confused for edible together with trully edible.

Hmmm, I've done just that, haven't I? Garlic bulbs with daffodil bulbs.
