My David Austin Lady of Shalott opened her first bloom today.

I'm especially pleased to see this, as she needed emergency surgery for black spot a couple of weeks ago. A glorious recovery!

LunaNorth your roses are stunning

Spookymormonhelldream · 16/05/2024 11:47

My lovely roses! I was worried they would actually drown with all the bloody rain earlier this year so I’m doubly happy to see them in all their glory

Love your digitalis and allium there @ILikeDungs and what looks like a nice big clump of sedum.

applecatchers36 · 18/05/2024 07:45

The planting is gorgeous ILikeDungs so romantic and 'English country garden', everything looks very healthy and green with the splashes of blue and purple. One day I would like a garden like yours...

ILikeDungs · 18/05/2024 14:19

Thank you AnneKipankitoo daisychain01 and applecatchers36

Yes I have several clumps of sedum, they are so easy and the bees love them.

APurpleSquirrel · 20/05/2024 10:05

My only David Austin rose - Tottering By Gently - is finally flowering!

I’m feeling proud. I did this this morning. All by myself. Some old sleepers. A tonne of gravel. Plants and a solar fountain. Might not be able to walk tomorrow. Plus cut the epic gras.

Well done @dinoice

That's lovely @dinoice , I'm sure it will soon look very colourful - you have a beautiful outlook.

Those sleepers must have weighed a tonne. Are you a weight-lifter in your spare time Grin

daisychain01 · 20/05/2024 21:09

I love sedum as well, @ILikeDungs its very low maintenance and doesn't suffer any disease and (importantly) doesn't attract slugs. Fed up of everything being demolished atm!

I've got a large clump of the miniature sedum variety in an old half-barrel that I'm going to have to transplant next week, as we bought some new barrels, as the old ones are falling apart.

@daisychain01 no. They were lying in the farm yard so I managed to get them onto the wheel barrow, dump into trailer then same at other end. Not a good idea back wise. Although I found hauling the gravel harder at the time

ILikeDungs · 21/05/2024 14:57

This one opened today in the front garden.

Took some snaps on my morning potter round the backyard with coffee. The yellow rose is DA Charles Darwin, the pink is La Reine Victoire, a bourbon rose with the most incredible scent. And the white is...can't remember but it's pretty. Not usually a fan of white roses but this is looking good this year.

I’m just getting into gardening after moving into a house with a beautifully mature but rather neglected garden - this azalea makes me happy every time I walk out my front door!
