Hedgehogs

I’ve got three hedgehogs and I’m so excited. I’d been feeding two for about a month and then a few nights ago the third one showed up. He’s considerably smaller than the other two so I’m hoping to fatten him up for winter.

What are you feeding them?
I’m in Putney and I have some feeding stations in the Common as we have hedgehogs in the area.
It’s really worth following Hedgehog Cabin on Twitter or check out her website HedgehogCabin.info. She runs a sanctuary with very good survival rates and says only cat biscuits, no mealworms or seed as this gives them metabolic bone disease 🦠

I’m feeding them dry kitten food and water. They come round every evening around 8:30. Thank you for the advice!

I also have a nightly visitor.

You’re lucky that yours are so consistent with the visiting hours. Mine can show up any time between 10pm and midnight.

Mine has been eating fruit from our fruit trees. It’s one of the greatest joys of having a wildlife friendly garden
(That’s my excuse for the nettles)
