Buddleja love!

We've got a few different types of purple and mauve ones and a massive white one that has been magnificent this year with huge, fragrant white 'cones' and a lovely yellow/Sungold one that has taken off this year.

Today I bought two dwarf ones, Candy little pink and Candy little Ruby.

Bees love them and they smell divine.

They are indestructible and can be chopped to make them whatever size you want.

Anyone else have Buddleja love?

Turn the music down, it's awful -

I like the yellow globular one, but I don't grow it or any other varieties. My garden is too small for a big shrub. I don't really like the way form as they're quite straggley.

I've only one buddleia, that I've had for years, I can't remember the variety. It does smell amazing. It's got grayish leaves and purple flowers with yellow centres. I like the way it comes back from being pruned hard. If I could though, I'd choose another variety. Perhaps Black Knight for the deep purple flowers and the Deep Purple reference or an arguably garish variety that I bought for my sister. Again, name unknown (variety not sister), it had variegated bright green leaves and shocking pink flowers. I'm smiling thinking about it.

I had a think and I remembered the name 'Lochinch', much to my surprise that is the variety I'm growing. My sister's though, I had to Google. Looks like it might be Santana, flowers are redder than I remember but still a very striking plant.

I have a huge white one (variety unknown); a Black Knight & a miniature one in light purple.
I love how much the bees, butterflies, & other insects love them.

I used to have two but the dark purple one died. I too love the scent and so do the bees and butterflies. The garden would be that bit less alive without one.
