Best tall, slim, evergreen plants for narrow strip of garden

Just as the title says.

Could you recommend some plants or suchlike that would provide a pretty outlook and some privacy for a long narrow garden (apartment windows about a metre away from the garden fence next to the street.

This narrowness means the plants need to be really narrow (otherwise they will fill too much of the garden) while also still being full enough to be pretty and provide some privacy.

Ideal height is 8-12 feet.

Thank you

The only things I can think of which will reach that height and remain narrow are either pencil cypress or espaliered trees.

You could also have anything that you can use for hedging, but it would need regular maintenance to stay thin and dense.

Alternatively, could you put up a trellis with a climber on it?

Teasel grow that tall but aren't evergreen or very pretty but the birds eat the seedheads in the winter.
I have Hemp-agrimony in the garden, dies down in the winter and not very pretty but grows tall and attracts butterflies. Of course there's bamboo but very invasive. Sunflowers?

Bamboo. The non invasive type.

I’ve seen espaliered Pyracantha work well. Chop off shoots heading outwards or back, tie sideways shoots in. Clusters of small white flowers in summer followed by abundant red or orange berries. Downside is thorns.

Could you use an evergreen climber and train it up an obelisk or wires? Lonicera Henryi Copper Beauty or Trachelospermum spring to mind.
