How to Sharpen Felcos on the Cheap?

I have a pair which I bought about 5 years ago and they've never been sharpened. I don't want to splash out on the expense of the propriety ones that Felco recommends, so I'm wondering if I can get away with anything that I can buy cheaply? I have a whetstone for my knives, but I'm not sure whether that would work?

DP always does mine very nicely without any fancy kit. They are quite robust.

I’ve got a little sharpening file which works pretty well. It’s not what you asked, but during lockdown I sent my Felcos back for a service and was very pleased with how extensive the overhaul was and how much better they worked afterwards as they were covered in years of grime.
