What can I plant now that will be flowering at the end of August?

I have a small south-facing garden on the south coast. I've absolutely filled the tiny beds but it's all very green - very few flowers!

I'm having a party at the end of August. Are there any bedding plants that I could plant now that would be flowering well by the end of August?

I have some supermarket lobelia that is doing very well. Any other suggestions? bonus if resistant to snails!

Thanks!

The bedding type Asters are good value for flowers well into Autumn. If you can get any, Cosmos have a long flowering period, as do marigolds.
Geraniums and Begonias will stil flower until the first frost.

For pots and hanging baskets, Fuschias are lovely. Also Dahlias!

Osteospermums!
