Name of big bushy lavender like this?

Hi, I'm after a nice big bushy lavender plant like the one here, one that will fill a space and attract bees. Now, I thought all lavender is much the same and obviously it isn't. I did plant some a couple of years ago but it didn't turn out like this, it remains a fairly minimal bit of scrub.

What would the name of this particular one be, please?

That looks like a hidcote on its last legs. Lavender has to be trimmed back each year otherwise it goes woody like the one in your photo has

Lidl had some nice sized lavenders in today.

Hidcote is relatively small, isn’t it? That looks like a bog standard English lavender several years old.

If you want big, billowy plants have a look at lavandin rather than lavender. A cultivar like ’Grosso’ for instance although there are plenty of cultivars. Lavandin is a hybrid (Lavandula x intermedia) and has a slightly different, stronger scent. Insects love it.
