Bugs

This is my first year gardening and I'm proud to have grown lots of different veg and herbs from seed. At the start I was very keen to do it all organically, no chemicals etc. but in the last couple of weeks I've noticed that some of my plants are getting these little white bugs/flies. The worst affected are the tomatoes, cucumbers, baby aubergines, chillis and basil. Can anyone recommend something I can spray them with?

I think you can wipe them off with soapy water

You can buy organic spray for fruit and veg, so maybe try that. It sounds like it could be whitefly to me. Are they outdoors or in a greenhouse/conservatory?

Weak washing up liquid solution, and spray the undersides of all the leaves. That normally gets rid of white fly.

Encouraging birds will help a bit. Bluetits love greenfly.

You can buy a little wasp that feeds on them - Encarsia.

Or gently vacuum clean them using the upholstery attachment - do it early in the morning while they’re still inactive.
