Birds on the TV aerial

I never see them, but I'm sure they're perching on the aerial because of poo patterns. Trouble is, the aerial juts out over the patio table. Even if we move the table it wouldn't solve the problem, because the poo also lands on the sliding. Fine if the door is closed. Not so fine now that the weather is fine and I want to leave the door open!

How can I stop the birds piercing in the aerial, without affecting TV reception?

And before anyone says "Oh the poor birds", we are surrounded by mature trees and sunny roofs. There is no lack of safe perching for birds of all sorts.

I don’t see how you can prevent birds on your aerial. You could of course, change it to a loft aerial, problem solved! (At a cost!)

You can get pigeon spikes, you've probably seen them on buildings, that stop birds perching and nesting in unwanted places. There may be a system suitable for an aerial. There are companies that might do it for you, I know Rentakill do bird spikes. But, assuming it is possible, get quotes, it might be cheaper to reposition the aerial, especially if they can't guarantee it or if it might need redoing frequently.
