Arghh! Does anybody have advice re designing garden borders( and can you put cut turf from somewhere else to sort mistakes😬)?

We’re putting a pond in, clearing a border and redesigning the shape. Has to redo a central one and have one more that needs enlarging. It’s really hard trying to decide shape and how to make it all cohesive. Have already over cut into the lawn and need to redo the pond bed. Aware we’re done it all wrong and should have designed it all properly first but we didn’t. Any advice?🙏

Use something to mark out the line if the bed, eg a hosepipe. Helps to visualise it.

Yes you can use turf from elsewhere in the lawn to patch mistakes

Don't think about the shape of the border. Think about the shape of the lawn, then the border is what's left.

Thanks so much. Problem is our garden is on a slope and lawn so to speak has a couple of access areas to it so it has kind of evolved into an odd shape. 😩 Had to kind of focus on the borders. Not sure what to do with it.
