Can I plant a new rose in an old pot

The previous rose died in? Cat accidentally uprooted it twice while newly planted and killed it. Got lovely very thriving bush rose - could it go in same pot? Does it need new compost?

Thanks, wise women of herbs.

Yes. They normally say to not plant a new rose in the spot where an old one was, as the soil becomes 'rose sick' but that applies to plants in the ground, not pots. Just give the pot a clean, use fresh compost and it will be fine.
