All my dahlias except Cafe au Lait have sprouted

Anybody else? Do they sprout later? First year growing them.

Were they in a clump of tubers? Or a single tuber. If the latter, the eyes should be planting upwards.

Yes a clump as per normal. Have grown other dahlias before. First time Cafe au Lait. All the others are sprouting but are the more open type eg Totally Tangerine. They were from SR so should be decent quality.

None of mine are sprouting yet.

I found CaL to be a bit of a later dahlia than others!

I grow CaL and also find it it be a bit late. If I remember correctly, the first year I put it in, I spent weeks thinking it was a gonna. Then up it came!

And a mystery tuber that i think might be a hot pink spiky thing (inherited)

None of mine are doing anything

Half of mine have. They were planted the same day, a couple of weeks ago. No idea why only half, though. Sarah Raven dahlias.

Cheap Dahlias from the B&M have sprouted + 1 Cafe au lait, 2 still dormant. No sign of the Dark Spirit x 3 all from the expensive Farmer Gracey

Most of my new ones have sprouted, which I’m pleased about as they didn’t look very promising in terms of visible eyes.

I also have 6 sprouting from last years batch, which I left in the ground under a thick layer of woodchip mulch.

Dont remember Café au Lait being slower, but fingers crossed - they are gorgeous!

OP are they in pots indoors, or outside in the ground ?

My Addison June from Woolmans is indoors and so far a no show 🙁

I have recieved orders (not dahlias) from Sarah Raven. Previous thread on here says her catalogue/website very well produced but goods not reliable. When I've had a moan before they have replaced but it's better not to have to moan! 'Cafe au lait' is lovely flower.

None of mine have sprouted either. Bought from Farmer Gracy. First year growing them so have been wondering if I did something wrong, but perhaps not based on some of these answers!

My cafe au laits were flowering well into the November last year. I think they take a bit of time to get going.

Im too lazy to lift the tubers so hard to tell if my ones from last year have died or waiting to sprout. I have some shoots from newer tubers though but honestly can’t remember what variety they are.
