Can anyone help please with guidance about how/where I should prune this rose plant?

It was a special gift so I don't want to kill it.

Thanks!

The RHS has a guide to pruning roses
www.rhs.org.uk/plants/roses/pruning-guide

If you want to keep it healthy, it needs to get into the ground and out of the pot.

Agree with getting it out of the pot (or into a much bigger one) with a load of added manure, or similar.

As for pruning, it looks like quite a nice open shape already so I would just take each branch back by at least 1/2 to just above an outward facing bud.

You cannot go too far wrong with pruning roses so don't overthink it Smile
