I’ve inherited an allotment & the person before had courgettes last summer. I’m tidying it up & there are old stems of plants. This is such a basic & maybe stupid question but should I just dig it all up?

Yes, they won't regrow. Mine all go into compost as soon as they stop fruiting.

yes

Pull them out and put them on the compost pile.
They grow really easily from seed and for one family 2 or 3 plants will produce plenty of fruit.

This is really helpful. Thanks everyone for replies. I’ll dig them out. Great!

BTW, it's not a stupid question! If you don't know you don't know, nothing wrong with asking.
