Hello
Has anyone sowed erigeron daisy's straight into soil or do I need to sow them in pots first? I basically need them for ground cover

Thanks

Do you mean erigeron karvinskianus? Mine seeds itself all over the place, so I imgine it would be okay. It loves gravel. I also have the pink erigeron Sea Breeze, which I grow from cuttings.

I bought a really small plant on eBay and it's seeded well. I struggled with seed initially.

Started with a small plant, now it’s everywhere.

It grows like weeds for me . I often scatter seeds from established plants where I'd like it grow .it always comes up .

We do need to know whether it’s the Erigeron karwinskianus, or whether it’s the perennial Erigeron, as advice will differ.

@MereDintofPandiculation oh whoops I thought the karwinskianus one was perenial, if not then I want the one that is :)

Yes you’re right, it is! It’s the one that looks like a leggy lawn daisy. There’s also Erigeron glaucus which looks more robust and can cope with clay, and I think gives a better ground cover.
