I think if you just mulch them heavily they will be fine.

Mine are still looking and flowering happily so I’ll wait for them to die off a bit, but yes eventually when it dies off cut it down and mulch over.

Until you've had a couple of heavy frosts and they've blacked, leave them be, then it depends on your soil type

We're west country and don't bother lifting them. No problems so far.

It's the wet they don't like. They're not too bothered by the cold if they're well mulched.
