Hi all

Does anyone know a good place to by plants and shrubs? I want to use a wholesale cheap and cheerful type place rather than an expensive garden centre.

I've go a BIG garden to plant out so need lots of cheap and largish shrubs to fill it.

I am near heathrow and will travel up to 25 miles for the right place!

Please post if you know anywhere.....maybe even mail order???

if you are south of heathrow and seriously need lots of stuff and know what you want there are loads of wholesalers in the Chobham (NOT Cobham) area - Johnsons of Chobham for one. Also Coblands at Brookwood that I know of and have used. BUT for a wholesaler to sell to you you do ned to have a serious budget and they may not be able to anyway - look under Nurseries - Horticultural - Wholesale in the yellow pages and phone before you go.

Otherwise you could try one of the RHS winter shows in London www.rhs.org.uk/WhatsOn/Events/london.htm which have wonderful suppliers hugely knowledgeable and sensible prices, not like big garden centres which IMO are overpriced and too predictable!

I'd recommend www.daviesbrothers.co.uk, just north of Burnham. They are definitely the cheapest I've come across in the area, and the plants are good too.

Not my area,so can't reccomend anyone, but it is worth asking any nursery if the will do a discount for trade/quantity.I usually get anything up to 10 % because I'm in the trade.
