Limping fox

I notice the resident fox has been limping on 3 legs for the last couple of days (the other one just dangles up). I don't normally feed foxes but have read I should give them some food if they are injured as they can't hunt.

How do you feed fox? 😶 I already threw an apple to the garden, but I think I scared the fox somehow because it just stared and sniffed on it but doesn't take it away.

I'd suggest you call the National Fox Welfare Society (or The Fox Project if you're in Kent) to find out who can help an injured fox.

Foxes will eat dog food.

Thank you, I'll give them a call tomorrow!

They're very partial to a jam sandwich. 😍

We had a fox in the garden who ate the hedgehog food, which was chicken flavoured kitten iam biscuits! So think you'd be fine with feeding them a bowl of dog biscuits, or dog food, etc :) hopefully that fox welfare society can help, if not try another local wildlife charity, probably best to get it checked out in case it needs help :)

I give my local ones chicken scraps and skin, not the bones though I don't know if it would be safe for them. Any scraps of meat, fish or cheese. Cat food, which is also good for hedgehogs I believe. Lots of foxes carry injuries from being struck by cars, the ones that survive.

Tinned dog food or dry dog food.

I thought raw chicken on bones was OK as it is OK for dogs just not cooked chicken bones.

If so waitrose do atray or chicken wings for £1.00

Definitely not vegan. I put out some hazelnuts and they were unmoved! (Turns out it's a vixen with a cub!)

I'll go buy some some dog food
