Columbia Road flower market

Does anyone know how good this flower market in London is for outdoor plants that you can buy in pots? I'm looking for various bedding plants and shrubs.
Last time I went years ago I was only looking for flowers and didn't notice what else was there.

If you have a car or can rent one you will be better off going to the garden centres in Enfield. Columbia road market is a Sunday morning experience for tourists and couples who want cut flowers and houseplants, not really for getting your outdoor planting scheme together.

or go to one of the rhs nurseries within an hour of the city (Beth charro in the east, wisely in the west) and make a day of it?

It’s a bit of a tourist trap and very overpriced. There are so many lovely garden centres, sunshine garden centre in north London is great, and if you can get out to Crews Hill, there’s a whole street of garden centres!

I third Crews Hill, we have been going there for almost 40 years. If you are after the usual plants and not 'fancy', Woldens is good. Since you are in the area, The Gardening Club is worth a visit but there is a £5 membership fee but the prices are very reasonable.

Thanks very much for the advice. I'd never heard of Crews Hill.
