Buddleia

The flowers on my buddleia are tiny this year, about 3 inches long, any ideas, thank you

Shortage of water as the spike was developing.

Thank you Yamadori, I'll know for next year. I pruned it down to about 10 inches this year and thought that was the reason.

My buddlia is the same. Lack of waters makes sense. When is the best time to prune it down ?

My MIL who is a keen gardener said winter. Not sure if she’s right or not but I tend to do it about Feb and it’s been going strong for 30 plus years and looks good.
