Decking maintenance

Should I repair bits of decking BEFORE stripping back & oiling/staining/painting? Not been maintained for two years
Thanks very much for any replies.

I’d repair it first and then do the painting or whatever all together, that way you aren’t touching up the repaired bits at a later date.
