I've found that slug nematodes work better than slug pellets to control them. Plus it won't affect any wildlife that might eat the slugs.

Don’t worry, wouldn’t touch them - a lovely blackbird visits early each morning to help with that issue

But nematodes don’t eat snails

We really push the boat out when its our wedding anniversary and order a tonne of compost...
