I’ve finally got a Musa Basjoo, yay!

I’ll admit, I’m not sure if my garden is east or west facing but I’m pretty sure it’s not south!

Initially we planted it in the the slightly shady border 1, which gets some sun, but really only on very sunny days towards the patio end and only until around mid day.

But then I thought that spot, although sheltered by the fence, may be too shady for it, so literally the next day I’ve replanted it in the flower bed, where, for example like today & other sunny days it will get full sun most of the day, but it’s not sheltered by anything (ignore the drawing the shed doesn’t go right up to the flower bed!)

The only thing now is that the leaves looks a bit droopy. I’ve watered it plenty.

I can’t plant it at the back of the garden in shady border 2 as I have plants filled there & it really is she fed there for most of the day.

I’m not sure if I should move it back to the fence? It’s not going to have a lot of room for the leaves, the border is only really about just over 2ft wide. However I fear that the position it’s in now maybe it’s getting too much sun - although it could be just that’s it’s because it’s unusually high temperature & we don’t have many of these days so it could be okay where it is? It’s in with a palm tree in the flower bed if that makes any difference where as in the shady border I have a small fern, hosta & an acer, all spread out.

I like keeping them in pots

One of my neighbours has six planted, in groups of three, in front of a garage. They're sheltered and get plenty of sun, but the Leaves still get windburn.

Full sun with shelter. Pots best as they need tlc in winter.

If you have a smart phone it will have a compass. Stand where you want to plant things. Get compass out and it'll tell you way you're facing.

Also sun rises in east and sets in west in UK
