Fatsia Polycarpa Green Fingers - What do I do with this & why it’s gone like this?!

Here’s a pic of my Fatsia Polycarpa Green Fingers plant. Got it cheap from local garden centre as it was looking sorry for itself. But fast forward a few weeks all the new shoots of leaves that are coming through the middle are brown & curled, but if you rub them they’re green underneath? There are some nice green leaves on the plant so I’m thinking it must be okay. It’s planted in a raised bed, has sun on it in the morning then shaded for the rest of the day. Do I cut the brown affected leaves off or just leave them?

Has the new growth been frost bitten?

Mine did that. I checked it wasn’t overwatered in pot. Gave it a feed and it’s sorted itself out now. I think the new growth isn’t that attractive. As it gets bigger you’ll notice it less.

I have Fatsia Spiders Web and the new growth looks very unappealing like yours but they seem to open out OK. Just took this photo and the new growth looks much better than it was a few weeks ago and last years leaves look fine.

Bigbeautifulmonster - I'm not sure about frost bitten, the new brown growth has only come through since we got the plant about , maybe 3, 4 weeks ago ( I could be way out it could be 5 weeks, my memory is shocking lately!)

Catname - so there's hope yet! I shall wait and see if they open up.

What's been happening @guessagain ? Curious.

It looks like they are growing, defining getting bigger so opening up. DH said they look alien like at first! Glad I didn’t cut them off!
