This plant (hebe maybe) has been in front border for over 10 years I just went to trim it and it is all matted and sticky.
Can this be saved or does it need to go?
Thanks in advance

Yikes! I honestly have no clue but that is quite an infestation!

I would turn to the rhs website for advice. Maybe some sort of white fly?

Sunshineandrainbow · 01/05/2022 18:26

There are black Caterpillars on it too :(

Box caterpillar?

NotMaryWhitehouse · 01/05/2022 19:37

Totally black or black stripe down back and head, green body?

Sunshineandrainbow · 01/05/2022 19:45

Yes a black stripe.
Having googled box caterpliiar that seems to be the culprit. It has completely covered the big plant and due to position of plant I have only see it today :(

The Bush was absolutely infested. Have cut it right back as no bug spray was working.
So gutted to lose this as it has been there for so long
The caterpillars are everywhere :(

Definitely box caterpillar. The bastards got mine too, which looks exactly like yours. Can't even see my leaves any more.
