Novice here. Am I too late to plant some spuds to harvest for the summer?
Thank you

It would probably be later in summer but don't see why not- do you have the seed potatoes yet?

Thank you. I tried to buy some today without success, and guessed that I was too late. Friendly neighbours have left them on my doorstep for the last 2 years but not this time 😞

You can just plant a regular main crop like Maris piper and dig them up early. I only ever plant maincrop potatoes and use them as and when I need them- they cook like new potatoes when little. Alternatively try wilko they still have a decent choice of seed potatoes.

If they are a “early” variety plant them and they will simply be a few weeks later, maybe late June, when they are meeting in the rows give them plenty of water and fertilizer like you would tomatoes ( same family).
