Our House on ITV. What’s the tree in the front garden?

Just that really! It seems to spend a lot of time being in the shots, and it’s a beauty. Is it magnolia? Chinese dogwood? Something else? I would like one.
I am pondering if whatever it is would be in bloom for a while as it is on tv😂

They don't stay in bloom very long.

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor- thanks. Are you watching too? It’s a scene stealer isn’t it? I did think magnolia, but was actually hoping was something else as it blooms ridiculously long on tv. I have a couple of magnolias already, but they are still babies really, one a stellata and the other Susan. Do you think that might be a different variety?

Well.. most magnolias only bloom a few days ish really before they drop their petals don’t they, but on the tv show it was distracting me that it has stayed in perfect bloom throughout the 2 episodes, so through an affair, moving out, moving on, house sale 😂. Now, I do know it’s not real and all the scenes were shot close together, but it sent my mind wandering, and I was slightly, unrealistically hopefully that it wasn’t a magnolia after all but something with a longer flowering time. Because I want it to be. Hence, I wondered if it was a kousa or something else?

They possibly filmed all the outside shots in one go. They don't often film in sequence.

The top pic with the actress has a teeny bit of tree to the left, that’s the one on tv. Also beautiful, but probably a magnolia. It really is distracting me when I watch the programme though, hence me trying to work out what it is. It’s worth watching to look at the tree 😂

DEFINITELY a magnolia! DH and I were admiring it on screen.

Very beautiful, but not for long, sadly.

I have a huge one and it looks amazing for about 3 days. The petals then fall and turn into a disgusting brown mush.

It’s on again to tonight if anyone wants to see the tree. Sadly, my magnolia only had one flower on it last year, hoping for a better show this year. 😳
