Is it too late to take penstemon cuttings?

Every year I forget to do this, and they don't survive well through the winter here. I've got some which still seem to be growing, is it too late to take some cuttings? Or maybe I should pot up the whole plant? I can overwinter in either a coldframe, mini greenhouse or indoors.

It's been so mild I reckon you could give it a whirl.

Penstemon are very tolerant things.

I'd go for it, I took some a week or so ago, they are looking promising.

I have taken some - not as many as I'd hoped as they're still trying to flower.
