First run in with slugs. Any hope for my Angelica Gigas and Astrantia Roma and how do I protect new young plants?

Suspect the hedgehogs have left us to it. Thinking no hope( don’t snigger) so how do I protect new young plants?

I’d keep both in pots until they’ve put on more root growth. They die back in winter and will sprout a gain in spring.
From the pictures they look very small and immature, might need some shelter.

Agree with beebumble.

I have had good results with nemaslug, so worth putting in an order in spring as soil temperatures rise.
