Planted in the wrong spot. Okay to move, or will it upset the plant?

It’s a bare root hydrangea.

I dug the planting hole larger than it needed to be because I hit some stones and had to clear them out; put the plant in and backfilled, came in, had dinner.

It’s now dark and I am just realising I’ve put it far too close to the front of the border. I meant it to sit further back so it would have a bit more space to flourish in all directions. (It’ll also look a bit odd, but that’s a secondary concern)

Will I traumatise it if I dig it up and move it the day after planting? Poor thing 🎻

It won't have settled yet so should be fine to move now. Probably still alright to move again later in the winter, but the sooner the better (as in the next few days, not tonight!)
