My pieris seems to showing flower buds?

Surely it's the wrong time of year for that - they usually flower in spring?!

We had a lot of rain recently (NW UK) after a very dry summer - do you think it thinks it's spring??

Has anyone else got plants doing things unexpectedly?

Same here! Maybe the weather has influenced it.

Planted about a month ago. Wasn't expecting this.
Gave some of these bulbs to the neighbor and hers are the same 😊

I've had a crocus pop up! The weather is confusing everything and everyone I think.

My pieris is also flowering !! I’m in Wales but the weather has been very humid for weeks.

A lot of spring flowering plants take the opportunity for a second flowering in autumn if conditions are right. Primroses are an example.

There are of course autumn flowering crocuses. And Colchicums which look very similar ( one of them has 6 stamens the other 3)

I have polyanthus still flowering after I bought them from the bargain corner at a garden centre (they had old blooms and had clearly been made up in a pot to be sold as a spring display).
I also have a delphinium in full bloom when all the others are long gone.
'Tis the year of very confused plants!
