I have come across this wonderful specimen on holiday - does anyone know what it is?

It’s a cordyline in flower. They’re spectacular, I’ve never had one flower, I would think the weather conditions would have to be just right, if it was growing in the UK.

Thank you - I would never have thought that. It’s coastal UK so quite mild.

I think it's actually an agave in flower, there are hundreds of them where my in-laws live.

I don’t think that’s a cordyline. I’ve a load of rhem and they flower and I’ve never seen anything like that.

Bluntness100 · 28/08/2021 20:18

And yes I think it’s an agave.

Picture This app says an Agave too Smile

Definitely an Agave! Agave americana is pretty hardy in the UK.

Have looked at the pictures and yes it does look like the agave flower. Thanks all!
