Pics he have sent to me from the garden of the victorian townhouse they've bought. The older owners didn't tell him which plants and trees are there and it looks well managed. The garden is long and narrow. They didn't tell me the sun's direction.

Thank you all!

The flowers in the foreground are echincea ( red) and verbena bonariensis (purple). You need photos of the trees' and shrubs' leaves for proper ID.

Agree the flowers are echinacea and verbena.

I think the evergreen shrubs under the tree as are either box, ilex or hebes.

No idea about the trees but what a beautiful garden!

Catname · 14/08/2021 17:58

I think the grasses beside the topiary box might be a form of Hakonechloa.

WellTidy · 14/08/2021 21:23

That is a damn nice garden!

bananacrumble · 14/08/2021 21:35

Well, garden envy....

WobblyLondoner · 14/08/2021 22:43

Oh my. Some very impressive pruning going on there.

I don't think the grasses are Hakonechloa, I think they tend to be smaller?

Gorgeous.

The tree by the planter could be a fig. Otherwise there’s no chance of an I’d from a general picture, you need to see leaf shape and barked the least

AbsolutelyPatsy · 15/08/2021 09:22

apparently september is a good time to plant Echinacea

Ohhh, what a wonderful garden!

Mrsjamin · 16/08/2021 06:31

Make sure he doesn't cut down any of those trees at the side, they are probably all there for privacy reasons. What a lovely garden!
