We are going away for two weeks. Just installed the Hozelock automatic watering system. Not cheap, but I spent so much time/care on my plants this year and feel bonded with them. Wouldn't want to lose them to draught. (I'm new to gardening).
I have mostly young plants planted into ground a month ago (were in pots before that). Lots of us flowers and two tomato plants. One gigantic Dahlia (over 3 feet tall with lots lots of flower buds) in pot.
I'm still not sure about the soil type in the garden. I suspect it's London clay, but the neighbour lady didn't think so.
I checked the weather for the next two weeks, apart from Saturday to Tuesday which are rainy, it would be mostly sunny until late August.
So I'm thinking to set the automatic system to give a 20 minutes drench to the flowerbed/small veggie patch and dripping in pot every evening at 6pm. With above 20C everyday sunny forecast, I suppose it's not too much? Can someone give some advice please? Thank you.
