Are any trees happy in a pot- thinking magnolia, apple ?

Don’t want to bother if fundamentally none are. I have a bay that is thriving but don’t want another one.

Acers are fine in pots, but avoid full sun.

I've got an Acer in a pot, just moved a cheery into a big planter from a pot after 7 years and got an apple in a pot. All seem happy enough, of course they'd be bigger without the pot though.

Oh, and a beech tree in a pot, but that will be going into a planter soon too

Fig trees like pots. You can also buy 'patio' versions of fruit trees that like pots.

My magnolia was not happy in a large pot, has thrived since I put it into the garden.
