Companion plants for lavender and salvia in pots

Searching for inspiration, what would you put in pots (medium sized planters) with lavender and/or salvia that would stand full sun, drought and neglect? In a driveway type area.
Something softer, floral or trailing maybe, but ideally which would last more than a few weeks. The local plant shops have dahlias, geraniums, mandevillia, hibiscus, petunias but I’m not convinced any of these are right.

Rock rose
Convulvulus cneorum
Mexican fleabane (erigeron)
Vinca (for trailing)
Campanula
Various alpines eg armeria, pinks

These are all pretty tough I think, and some are evergreen

Thank you. I like the idea of rock rose if I can can find some.
I planted some Erigeron karvinskianus seeds but I think they were mislabelled, something else has appears instead.

@OhRosalind Erigeron is amazing if you can get it. I sowed it this year and it is such a joy, spreading readily in cracks and along the sides of a path. Just love it 😍

Bees love it too and it flowers forever. I got mine as bedding plants not seeds though (cheating!)

That sounds amazing @catwithflowers, And exactly what I was hoping for but definitely not what I’ve got, unfortunately! I’ll keep an eye out for the plants next year.

Erigeron or campanula.

I bought seeds from Sarah Raven. The first ones didn't germinate so I bought another packet and loads came up. Not sure if it was the seeds or whether I just tried to grow them too early. It spreads like crazy though so even if just a few seedlings are successful, you'll soon have a garden full of fleabane 😂

That is gorgeous @catwithflowers

Now I won’t be satisfied with anything else! I am overseas and fleabane seeds and plants are hard to find but I’ll keep trying, I do see it growing though so perhaps I could grow some from a cutting?

Campanula is a good idea, cheap, easy and flowers forever. I have been on Pinterest admiring Sarah Raven’s spectacular container combinations of salvia/dahlias and buddleja/geraniums etc and I’m getting over ambitious.
