Yes @SwtPeasOnEarth, still lots and lots of snow here, it won't melt until March at the absolute earliest, probably later. Lovely Christmas decorations at your mum's, it looks so so cosy and festive inside!🎄
I'm so sorry to hear of the tornadoes and all of that destruction, glad to hear you and your family are all safe and well. Yes, those are foothills in my last photo. The picture was taken in town down in the valley at a height of 600m above sea level, the mountain you can see at the back is where I live, not right at the top of course, but about halfway up. The peak is 1800m and I live at 1100m roughly.

At the moment we're just preparing to travel back to the U.K for Christmas with our families, we'll be leaving on Wednesday. Nothing happening in the garden but snow! ❄️

Oh No! I've just seen the weather report for the US....more devastating tornados are on the way...coming out of Salt Lake City, Utah and heading over to a 6 state area to Minnesota....predicted to be just as devastating as last week's...the winds in Kentucky last weekend were measured at over 190 mph!
These tornados are going to affect a huge part of the US... not only humans, animals, flora, fauna but also infrastructure😭

Thank you all for your prayers and kind words about the terrible weather...this last storm wasn't as destructive as the one last week although lives were still lost. It's so strange...there is a heat wave going on in the areas where there is normally snow...15°C in NYC today...The poor trees and scrubs, etc think it's springtime.
@WobblyLondoner how is your urban garden growing?

My DH has persuaded me to set up our Christmas tree..he knew exactly how to light a yuletide fire under me by asking me if he should put up the tree😂

Hello everyone and thanks for the nudge @SwtPeasOnEarth - so lovely to see all your updates (apart from your weather update for the US, that sounds terrifying). My little urban garden is looking rather sorry for itself. I cut back the banana tree last week and padded it out with straw - it looks awful! But rather miraculously I found this - a very late nerine flower.
