What patio furniture?

What material would you choose for a patio table and chairs? If you have these, did you go for some type of wood, metal or rattan, and has it lasted after being left outside in the rain? Lots of conflicting info online about what's best.

For me it’s rattan, I’ve had it all from teak to metal to rattan and find the rattan jist needs a power wash and can stay out all year. I find the work with wood a ball ache. But it depends what look you prefer.

I'm not that fussed about the look, more about practicality. I'd like something that will last and won't rust or rot.
