Problem neighbour

My next door neighbour is elderly and her mental health has rapidly declined in the last few years, she doesn't let anything grow in her garden except for grass. This is fine except she has for the last year been throwing salt on the other 2 neighbours gardens on their shrubs. She also leans over the fences to cut anything she can reach.
My problem is that I now want to plant some hedging along the border with her and although I will put up some fencing I now she will throw salt over. Any recommendations for some really hardy plants that can withstand salt?! We are also in a really windy coastal area.

Pittosporum, hebe and blackthorn should all be ok I think. Fuschia might do alright too

Catch her doing it and threaten to report her. Whilst she may be elderly and have poor mental health, it's not a free ticket for her to do what she wants.

I don’t have any suggestions but I just wanted to say that you’re a good person for trying to find solutions when she is clearly unreasonable!

We've reported her countless times to the police, social services have also been involved but nothing gets done!
I also don't want a confrontation with her as she is very volatile!
I'll look into those shrubs thanks!

Just an idea, no clue if it would work, but could you put some sort of plastic barrier around the base of the plants and then bark chippings or something on top, so the soil doesn't absorb as much of the salt? Absolute nightmare for you. Sad

Wait in the bushes with a water pistol 💦

Have a look at Olearia..evergreen and flowers. Recommended for costal areas. Olearia Hastii looks lovely when flowering and can grow quite large. U could also try putting up a fence with an extended trellis piece on top ..so its too tall for her to reach over. If you are looking for larger shrubs in 10litre pots to get you started quickly.. David Fairley Gardens online sell larger shrubs at great prices. Good info too so might help you when choosing.

Sea buckthorn?

But jeesus what is it with all these anti plant weirdos? Why does she hate shrubs, is it because they're not "neat"? FFS.
