Strawberry plants with brown edges to leaves?

I planted some bare root strawberry plants about a month ago, and 4 out of the 10 plants are going brown at the edges of the leaves, while the rest look perfectly healthy. They've all been treated the same way - planted into a mound of soil mixed with well rotted manure compost, and topped with strulch. The soil is consistently moist but not soggy. What's up with the stragglers?

Pics of suffering plants and one of lovely healthy one - all same batch.

I have a mix of ones that look nice and green and healthy and then one that has frayed brown edges that looks like yours, not sure if that one got caught by the frost.

I've also got one bare root that has done absolutely nothing 🤣

Not much help but I think maybe some roots just do better than others.

I guess I'll just have to suck it up if some don't survive, if there's nothing I can do to help them. How sad - this is my second attempt at strawberries, the first having been singularly unfruitful. I really thought I'd done everything right.

I bought 10 too and definitely don't expect every one to survive, I never do when it comes to plug plants or bare roots.
