An order has just arrived - hollyhocks, verbena et al. Would you plant out now or pot up indoors until frosts have passed and transfer later.

Pot up and grow on before planting out unless they're the 'ready to plant out' kind. Even then, they may need hardening off depending on where they've come from Smile

Thanks , will pot up and put into shed for time being.

They will need good light. Does your shed have a window that they can be next to? Otherwise, at this time of year I’d find somewhere sheltered in the garden.

Thank you. Yes there is a shelf under windows along one side facing west. Just potted them up into individual pots so we'll see how they go.

I always give plug plants 2 weeks of TLC before planting out after wasting££ in my earlier gardening days!!

Mrsmorton haha me too. I bought 72 the first time, many moons ago, and killed them allGrin
