No sign of my rhubarb

I put in a rhubarb crown before the winter and mulched well, but not covering the tip I thought. I can see the brown end of it but not the slightest sign of a shoot yet. Has it died or might it still come up?

It might still come up. Don't give up hope yet. Mine are reddish knobs at the moment.

Rhubarb is a tough customer. My rhubarb patch has survived minus 17C winters, and still come up smiling every year since 1983!
Don’t despair yet, OP, although it is getting a little late for it - mine is well above ground now in Perthshire, Scotland.
