Hello
Do any of you use mirrors to reflect the sun on to plants in shady areas? Does it work? I have planted a climbing rose in a shady area. I think it will be fine when it is bigger as it will get sun on the top half of it but while it is short, it gets little sun so I was thinking abut trying to reflect sunlight. Any good or is it a waste of time? Thanks!

i have one small decorative mirror but nothing to reflect light onto a specific plant.

the problem is, the sun moves so much that your mirror is only going to reflect in the right direction for 30 mins per day.

Why not just swap the rose and the mirror?

I hate mirrors in gardens and careless placement can cause fires

I have a mirror ‘gate’ that brightens up a dark corner of the garden but it doesn’t reflect onto plants. I’d think that may be a fire hazard?? Love my ‘gate’ though.

Mirrors are dangerous to birds as they fly into then. In the spring they can hurt themselves by fighting their reflection off from their nesting ground and girlfriend.
