Best place and time to buy/plant blackcurrants?

I have a couple blackberry plants that I have had 2 years, they don’t produce a huge amount so I would like to plant a few more this year.

Can anyone recommend somewhere online I can buy them? Or am I better waiting for lidl to sell them (I think that’s where mine came from)?

When’s the best time to plant?

Now is an excellent time before it hots up / dries out too much. We're probably at or just coming to the end of the bare root season now.

Mine are from all over the place and tbh I've been really happy with the small soft fruit 'bushes' from Lidl /Aldi /Morrisons, but you're limited as to when they're available. But mine from b&q have also been good, and bigger ones from a specialist place like Ken Muir have been very very good. Also good have been ones I've grown from cuttings.

They do take a few years to get motoring, unfortunately.

Thank you, hopefully I will get a better crop this year from the plants I have, I have trimmed them back a bit today to encourage more growth. Hopefully I can pick up a few more from lidl in the coming weeks.

I bought 10 raspberry canes last year and had no luck with them, checked some today and they were totally dead (no roots). I thought they were meant to be easy to grow? 🤣
