When would you expect gooseberries and white currants to come into leaf?

I planted some bare root white currents and gooseberries in the autumn, and now watching keenly to see if they burst into leaf. One gooseberry variety has done so, but one and the current are still bare. When would you expect leaves in the SE? We have had snow recently in case that's relevant.

Your first sign will be buds swelling. I wouldn't expect leaves till about the same time that leaves area appearing on the trees.
