I've got 90! Had them for Christmas and still in box.

I have planted them out in January and they have been fine. They will just come up a bit, later.

I planted some just before Christmas and a bloody squirrel has dug them ALL up, and the daffs too. So if you know you have squirrels then do your best to squirrel-proof em.

It’s a bit late, but it’ll be fine - they’ll catch up. It’s far more problematic to plant tulips too early (if you’re planting them in the ground) because it makes them more susceptible to disease.

I was wondering this. Bought before Christmas in a fit of enthusiasm and havent planted.

Would it be better to plant in pots and keep indoors until frost is over. I have loads of plastic plant pots

Pots might be better if your ground is very cold and hard, but I'd put them outdoors. I always grow tulips in pots as they dislike my clay soil, but they seem to weather the frost well.

I had some as a Christmas present too and put them out last week in pots. I have put wire panels (saved from old plastic greenhouse staging and very useful) over them to stop the squirrels. Some of mine had started to sprout so I wouldn’t hang about too long with yours.
