My daughter got a little grow your own fairy garden set for Christmas, and it needs soil but just a tiny amount. Does anyone know where I can order this from?

For future reference, compost is usually sold by the litre so next time you can work out how much you need by measuring the volume of the pot.

I wouldn't buy grass seed. You will hardly need any and it isn't sold in small amounts. I would by a packet of mixed micro greens that will look cute and you can eat them then replant. Make sure you buy them from a reputable company, not some dodgy company on Amazon with photoshopped pictures selling seed without a licence to import it. You won't get what you ordered.

Something like this:

That'll look really nice once stuff starts growing round the unicorn!

I remember how much my DSs enjoyed making a dinosaur garden. Damp tissue with mustard and cress seeds, and the tops of carrots and parsnips which shoot into "tree ferns". And added plastic dinosaurs.

@MereDintofPandiculation 😃

That's a really good idea, my DS will love that! I feel inspired ! Thanks 😊

Ah looks great! I had the same problem (for exactly the same unicorn garden) and ordered the smallest bag of potting compost I could find on Amazon

The grass lasts well, the other stuff looked good then died off - and needed more watering than I realised at first
