In December!
Two beautiful, hot pink/red blooms 😊

The campanula under them is still flowering too!

What nice things are flowering in your gardens?

How lovely! I have some carnations flowering.

Roses, pelargoniums flowering, buds all over the camellias. Doesn’t feel right as I’m in Yorkshire and it should be cold

PlatinumBrunette · 02/12/2020 18:51

I've got a lovely red rosebud on my Ena Harkness.
A few Dianthus.
Primroses that haven't stopped all year but provide food for the slugs
and look a bit manky Hmm.
My kaffir lily is on its 2nd set of blooms this year and looks fabulous.
Mexican daisies are holding on for dear life too.

Sunny Camellias do form their buds at this time of year, so that they can be ready to go as soon as spring starts.

I'm in Yorkshire too. With roses, primroses, wallflower, "snow in summer", clematis, red campion. As well as the usual winter things of Viburnum bodnantense, winter flowering cherry, winter jasmine, cyclamen.

LIZS · 03/12/2020 12:11

Got two rose bushes still flowering and a clematis normally May/June.

The cosmos I sowed a bit late which I thought would never get going have flowered beautifully all through November and are still going. Lancashire.

Fuschias are still good, some nasturtiums, some geraniums, a few roses, small campanulas and a tall pink herbaceous flower I've forgotten the name of. Plus things which should be flowering now - mahonia, cyclamen, pansies, primulas.

My camellia is in full bloom.
The stupid strawberry plant that I propagated this summer is still throwing out runners and tonnes of flowers (though the fruit has stopped forming)
Also still flowers on my antirhynnums (however you spell it) and lobelia.
One of my clematis is also full of flower, though it is an evergreen autumn flowering one so not so daft.

I've still got some pelargoniums going strong, they are protected by the shrubs growing overhead.

Two different roses, City of Leeds and Iceberg are in flower. The Iceberg one would flower all year round if I let it. We often have a bloom from it on the table on Christmas Day. Smile

My rosemary has come into flower in the last week too.

DandelionsAreMyFriends · 13/12/2020 19:11

My roses are flowering too, and really bizarrely two iris reticulata 'katharine hodgkin' are in full flower I only planted them in October and they are meant to flower in February. I've got calendula and scabiosia that hasn't stopped flowering since summer too. I'm in the midlands but the frosts just don't seem to have reached us yet.

CaptainMyCaptain · 13/12/2020 19:13

I have a geranium flowering and lots of penstemon. The clematis and roses have only just died off.

Iris5543 · 13/12/2020 19:25

I have roses, Lupins, campanulas...odd isn’t it.🙂
I’ve also had killer frosts, it hasn’t taken any of the above though.
Some of the iris I planted in nov, are about 20cm high. ( I’ve covered them with forest bark.)

Lupins in December ...it’s a strange year!

CaptainMyCaptain · 13/12/2020 19:30

I love lupins but struggle to grow them in my garden at the best of times.
