Can I Paint On Stump Killer And Then Plant Round The Stumps?

I have had 5 conifers removed with stumps down to ground level. I have also cut back a thorn bush that grows very fast and straggly. It’s been cut back nearly to the ground.

Can I paint on SBK stump killer and still plant around them straight after?

If not, can I just plant round the stumps as they are and is there any other way to get rid of the thorn bush. I couldn’t dig it out.

Thanks

I painted SBK on some tree stumps at the beginning of September, the pack says allow six weeks between application and replanting so I'm avoiding the surrounding area while planting spring bulbs.

There hasn't been any new growth on the stumps but that may just be the time of year. The SBK pack says a second application can be used six weeks after the first and I am planning on doing that in a fortnight, so will wait at least another six weeks after that before planting.

Thanks for the reply. I want to plant straight away so I think I’ll skip killing off the tree trunk and hope they die off naturally.
